Clay Claiborne, CPO
Clay has 20 years experience as a Certified Prosthetist. In 2005 he founded Claiborne Prosthetics & Orthotics. Clay was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, and attended NC State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.
His career started in the family business, Slug’s Restaurants. Despite success in the restaurant business, Clay felt a strong desire to help people. To fulfill this desire he attended the University of California at Domingo Hills to graduate with a certificate in Prosthetics and Orthotics.
In the past decade, Clay has worked with all levels of amputees. His experience with different components and designs has given him a first-hand knowledge of developing a system that is most beneficial to the individual patient.
Clay is an American Board Certified (ABC) prosthetist. In addition, Clay holds many certifications for high level prostheses and orthoses.
Clay started an amputee Support Group in Charlotte with monthly meetings on educational topics. Clay believes in the team approach: including doctors, therapists, family and friends to meet his patients’ needs.
